About Glenn

Glenn Wasserman was born and grew-up in Brooklyn, NY, in a city housing project, surrounded by a community of blue-collar folks who all supported each other in a close-knit community.  My building was 8 stories tall, with 72 families in the building and 23 buildings, known as "Bayview Houses". Needless to say, we were never alone or lonely!

Glenn started playing the clarinet around age 6, then shifted to violin and eventually to guitar around age 11 and has not looked back ever since. He did his first public recital by age 13 and started putting a band together by age 15. His first successful band named "Bogus" caught fire and led them to a "Battle of the Bands" victory at his local high school and things took off from there.

Glenn's musical talent was well beyond his age and by 1975, at age 16, Glenn and his band Bogus had won the NYC, Stardust Rock competition sponsored by the Police Athletic League, Columbia Pictures & Arista Records. Their prize included a concert they played at Rockefeller Center in NYC and they got to open the film "Stardust" by "David Essex" and were celebrated on NBC TV News in NYC with news anchor, Mary Alice Williams.

By age 18, Glenn was asked to play on an R&B record at the famous "Record Plant" in NYC under Hologram Records, a subsidiary of RCA being produced by famed singer and actress, Ellie Greenwich from "Leader of the Pack" and then producer for the "Outlaws", Jeff Kent. I remember the feeling of being in the control room at the record plant, overwhelmed by all the amazing history, Glenn recall's!

"The experiences I had early on were amazing but I knew the music business was filled with challenges and I was torn to make a decision to follow a music career or return to school. That decision was influenced after my recording contract was cancelled and I had to leave before the project was completed. My family was also pressuring me to stay the education course so I put my music career on hold to stay close to home and get an education."

  • Glenn got married to his college sweetheart in 1987 in Brooklyn NY where he was working as a regional manager for ADP, Dealer Services in corp. America. In 1993, Glenn and his wife Phyllis left Brooklyn NY and headed to the suburbs of Allentown PA, still selling software and spending the next many years in sales with a short turn at business development for a NYC based streaming media company in 2000.

In 2010, Glenn started up a small, marketing and software business and today owns 1CustomerPlus, a marketing services and software company from his home in Allentown PA. His new band, "The Mississippi Pig Farmers" has done various festivals and gigs in the local area with a nice following of fans who appreciate their brand of southern rock and blues.

Today, at age 63, I look back fondly at the great childhood I had and remember how back then, Brooklyn was a magical place, a melting pot of people, personalities and experiences. Today, I enjoy a nice life in the suburbs, play out with my band when I can and enjoy running a business. My wife Phyllis has stood beside me for 35 years and frankly, I am excited at what the future has in store.

To all my family, friends & fans, thank you for your support and I wish all of you the best that life has to offer.
